Bayou Rifles holds a Vintage-Garand-Modern Military Match in January, February, March, September and November. Any WWII era rifle, current Service Rifles or Match Rifle are allowed. Rifle must be able to fire 10 rounds in 70 seconds with a mag change. No muzzle Breaks are allowed. The match is shot at 200 yards from the prone, sitting and standing positions. The course of fire requires 50 shots for record and 5 sighters.

In order use the 600 or 1000 yard range a BRI member must be Long Range Qualified (LRQ). Members that have a HP Classification or have completed a match will have their LRQ status updated upon a request to the HP Director. Another way to become qualified is to attend an Intro to Long Range class then successfuly complete the actual LRQ qualification.
The intent of this orientation is to better prepare members for shooting at 1000 yards. This includes cartridge selection, ammunition, scopes and basic knowledge relating to ballistic apps etc.
There will be shooting at 100 and 300 yards. 20-30 rounds needed.
This orientation is limited to 21 members.
