Over the past few months, the Board has approved significant investment in the improvement of the Juliff Range.  The electrical system was in dire need of repairs, and the covers at the 300 yard line and the 1000 yard line had been destroyed by the hurricane last year.

The main electrical service and the power line pole were replaced and re-built to modern Electric Code.  The outlets to the picnic area, the 300 yard line, the 100 yard line and the 25/50 yard line were upgraded and weatherproofed.  The storage container at the 25/50 yard area now has electricity and lights inside.  the 200/300 yard pits now have electricity on both ends of the line, and the storage container there now also has electricity and lights inside as well.

The 300 yard line now has a newly designed and installed Metal Cover over the entire shooting line.  The 1000 yard line also has a newly designed and installed Metal Cover over the entire shooting line.  Both covers were designed to sustain 80+ mph winds, and are sloped to divert the wind action.  Both structures have heavy gauge 4-inch Galvanized Steel Posts that are cemented into the ground, and both have roofing structures that are welded throughout.  Metal Roofing (26 gauge) is bolted to each structure from end to end.

These improvements will enable Bayou Rifles to continue to offer some of the finest facilities in the state.
